Dahlia

Perhaps the journey had been a long one, maybe yes- she had cut her paw on a rock covered in algae, which she treated. But as the sun began to set on the horizon, emerald eyes watched the beauty of the painted canvas. Below, the water splashed gently. The chinchilla on the wolf's shoulders ignored the scenery, and simply groomed. The scream of seabirds began to calm, and crickets chirped from a long while away. The world was filled with a calm music, and the white lass sat on the sand. The last trace of the sun faded away, stars began to brighten- as well as the ocean. It began to glow, blue and light green. It was beautiful, and Dahlia quietly gasped, feeling a thump on the back of her head as Rawki grabbed her pale fur and pulled herself up, trying to see what was happening. The lady in velvet was amazed, it was beautiful.... And then her stomach growled.

Darkness slowly stretched over the land until he could no longer tell if the collapse had been gradual or sudden. The expansion of their world into the moorlands and beyond had changed so many things that he'd been busy working through the details and logistics. He had seen Dahlia passing through the brush ahead of him, and instead of making himself known just yet, he wanted to know as much as he could prior to an introduction. Staying concealed downwind in the shadows he had enough distance to idly gaze upon the following interaction. Sinclair, having quietly communicated with Balthier moved away from the wolf's side. The deer was slow, walking with care in every step and acting quite like a natural stag. His head raised high at the edge of the water and his eyes tilted towards the moon, pretending to be unaware of the nearby wolf, his head lowering towards the water and freezing as the crack of a branch sounded off in the distance. The deer's muscles tensed beneath his taught flesh, rippling as his head raised again and turned towards the wolf, staring directly at her and staying frozen in the spot; basking beneath the rays of light.

Dahlia was slightly suprised, when the stag had just come out and continued on its normal business for a long moment before noticing her. The stared striaght at her, and she met its eyes. Was she hungry? Yes. Could she take down this magnificent beast? Most definitly not. Well, not with her now cut paw- luckily, she was a healer, and would take care of it later. It didn't hurt bad, but now the atmosphere seemed to glow around the stag. And her eyes widened in awe, tail stub thumping against the wet sand. What a creature to complete the ethereal scene. The red and white woman smiled briefly at the animal. She wasnt sure if it would understand, as wild prey normally were simple creatures, and she turned her gaze back to the horizon. The salty air smelled wonderful, fresh in fact. If only the sea weren't so endless and intimidating, she would attempt her luck at a fish- but they were all too far into the water, and chances are she would be unable to catch any while her head was barely above water.
